Wilderness Endurance Basics

You’ve seen the televised network shows weekly, read social media blogs, and possibly even started your own preparations for an endurance weekend away from the comforts of home. Join an experienced team of instructors for two days of in-depth instruction AND wilderness endurance at Halcomb’s Knob, a 30 acre native woodland of Kentucky. Every weekend session, offers participants regardless of age or ability the opportunity to learn new skills and fortify your knowledge (and your friends and family) to survive an emergency.

Held in-the-field, these weekend sessions are hands-on detailing the skills, including how to start a fire, emergency shelter construction, purification of water, edible and medicinal plants identification, and compass orientation, required to survive a wilderness emergency!

Join our experienced team, to learn what you need and what to expect when an emergency arise either while on the trail, camping, fishing, or even just out for a walk. We will cover how to plan, how to stay warm, how to select weather appropriate gear and what to expect when setting up “camp”. Our wilderness skills workshops are motivational fun for the entire family, a youth group or even a group of friends!
